Training and
Instruction
Dee is available for private instruction and/or clinics to help riders and their horses improve and advance to the next level of competence. Dee works on an individual plan with each horse/rider using a steady, calm, systematic approach to developing the combination. Her philosophy is if you want to become a better dressage rider and trainer for your horse it takes effort, dedication and good help. This is true whether your goals are to compete in dressage or just ride for your own enjoyment or competition in other horse sports. You should have:
| 1. |
The right horse for you – not necessarily a
warmblood. Dee has trained and successfully competed: a TB mare, a Paint mare, a Canadian Hunter mare, a Dutch gelding, 2 Hanoverian mares, a Hanoverian gelding, a Danish gelding, and two Morgan geldings. All of these horses were successful in dressage competition, and several in another horse sport simultaneously –
eventing, carriage driving (see resume page). |
2. |
A willingness to work diligently to improve your riding knowledge and skills via good instruction supplemented by studying dressage training methods and theories. |
3. |
The discipline to set goals and objectives for yourself and develop an action plan to achieve those goals and objectives through systematic training. |
Below is the latest addition to Dee’s farm, Moe, who exemplifies the above, fantastic success for a 4 yr. old in his first year of showing:
